Lower your chance of corona: stop smoking!
New infections are added every day, and many people die. The days of "it's just a flu" are definitely over, the World Health Organization (WHO) has officially labeled COVID-19 or the Corona virus as a pandemic. Enough reason to seek some comfort. The catering industry is closed, so stay at home and light an extra cigarette to temper that stress somewhat. Yet now is the time to quit smoking. Why smoking during Corona is dangerous
There is much we do not yet know about COVID-19. We do know that there are populations that are extra sensitive to contract the virus, and that can also make them very sick, possibly leading to death. To date, most of the deaths are seniors, yet there are also many younger infected. There are indications that obesity plays a role, in fact all factors that influence the resistance of the body. The Coronavirus affects the lungs, this is the place where smokers are vulnerable.
How can you quit smoking?
Very easy; don't light a cigarette anymore. That is the advice of a non-smoker. But smoking is an addiction, cigarettes are made to keep you captivated by the filthy smoke. We understand very well that your head is not about withdrawal methods, but this is the time when doubting is not wise. There are various therapies, with or without smoking cessation aids such as nicotine patches or e-cigarettes. If you like to be pricked with needles during an acupuncture session, it will be difficult, because these practices are closed for the time being. Unfortunately, products containing nicotine do not remove the addiction, but they are available. Social distance is now important, start avoiding your regular tobacco farmer!
